We restored the majestic Driac 2 in 2006 for a local client.
The yacht was in a sorry state when she arrived, all her frames very rotten and her fixings had corroded in the hull planking. The interior was very tired and had been chopped and changed over the years, so the decision was taken to replace completely. As a result, we had a free hand to create something new based on the specific needs of the owner.
This was a fantastic project for the team, with a huge jobs list, including reframing, replanking, new stem, new transom, 30 new deck beams, new deck, new interior, new engine and electrical systems, plumbing and the list goes on…
The interior was built in Cumbrian oak, a material we love working with.
Images show the new solid teak deck we put down.
She is now structurally sound, with the new deck and interior fitted and finished. She was launched in 2008.
